Focus on the Pink

In High School, my uniqueness squeaked by the tight dress code for girls set by the Catholic School ideals. Hot pink tights flashed under the navy/grey plaid skirt required by the rule demanding that the “I” mattered.  Blending in wasn’t my style.

It still isn’t my style, although my maturing mind understands discipline’s reasoning.

Life’s discipline isn’t about following a set of rules.  It’s how chaos is confronted. Roe v. Wade overturned chainsawed a young Women’s movement (#MeToo) to the ground. Before the dust settled from the fall, women focused on the need not the ideal, and executed alternative strategies.

With people screaming ideals of a perfect family with perfect structured lives, “unique” people keep pushing back. The “pro-life” argues that every child has a right to be born. Yes, every person deserves to live the life a fertilized human egg, with all the preset personality traits embedded into the DNA, gifted to them
